ECMO Cannulation Course

This course will be held in Murfreesboro, TN, located just 30 miles south of the  Nashville International Airport – BNA.

This course is intended for intensivists, cardiologists, surgeons, emergency physicians, or other healthcare professionals desiring to learn and/or improve your ECMO cannulation abilities.  

You will be provided with multiple opportunities to focus on development of individual skills as well as information and skills training opportunities to perform ECMO cannulation for different patient age groups and multiple ECMO modalities. 

Course participation is limited to a small number of learners to assure plenty of time for not only individual practice but also for maximal contact hours with the highly skilled experienced ECMO cannulating physicians assisting with the training process.

The course is built upon the ELSO Guidelines.  CME/CE credits are jointly provided by Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and ECMO Advantage.

Introduction to ECMO for the Rehabilitation Professional

This course will be held in Murfreesboro, TN, located just 30 miles south of the  Nashville International Airport – BNA.

This 1.5 Day course is designed to provide the rehabilitation professional with comprehensive knowledge and practical clinical skills to safely manage the complex patient population supported on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The course will provide a didactic overview of foundational cardiac/pulmonary principles, common critical care support lines/devices, ECMO physiology(VA, VV,  and hybrids ), and  mobilization strategies specific to patients ECMO.  The learner will participate in high fidelity simulation experiences designed to reinforce didactic information and hands on clinical skills.

 

Target audience: 

Physical and Occupational therapists caring for adult patients supported on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
